The lineup that makes peace between Sony and its subscribers.
Published 25 September, 2025

As autumn settles in and the nights grow longer, PlayStation Plus finally shifts its mood. Gone is the dull back-to-school vibe: October 2025 promises something darker, bolder, and above all more exciting, with a long-awaited blockbuster, a wacky sandbox, and an indie adventure full of mysteries.

Unveiled as a surprise during the September 2025 State of Play, October’s PS Plus lineup is set to lift the spirits of a community disappointed by past offerings—especially September’s lackluster selection, limited to aging PS4 titles. Starting October 7, the service will finally feature a true next-gen blockbuster, along with two fresh and original experiences that bring variety and creativity.

Alan Wake 2 (PS5)

The crown jewel of this lineup, Alan Wake 2 stands out as the most anticipated title among subscribers this month. Hailed as one of the best games of 2023, this Remedy survival-horror immerses players in a tense, oppressive atmosphere where light is the only weapon against lurking shadows. More than just a sequel, it’s a full-fledged cinematic experience, both terrifying and mesmerizing, pushing the genre to new heights on PS5.

Goat Simulator 3 (PS4, PS5)

On the complete opposite end of the spectrum, Goat Simulator 3 embraces absurdity and chaos. Whether solo or in co-op, you play as an uncontrollable goat turning the world into a ridiculous playground. With its intentionally over-the-top humor and quirky mechanics, it’s the perfect stress reliever for anyone looking for instant fun, no strings attached.

Cocoon (PS4, PS5)

Created by a former developer of Limbo and Inside, Cocoon is a mesmerizing puzzle game that plays with the concept of worlds nested inside mysterious orbs. Each puzzle challenges you to think differently and experiment, all within a minimalist yet stunningly beautiful universe. A game that captivates with its artistic poetry and originality, already securing its place as a standout indie title.

New Games for Extra and Premium Subscribers

Beyond the monthly games available to all subscribers—kept for as long as they’re added to the library—the Extra and Premium tiers are also expanding their catalogs. Starting September 26, The Last of Us Part II Remastered joins the lineup to celebrate Last of Us Day. This remastered edition elevates the experience with sharper visuals, smoother performance, and new content—an opportunity to rediscover Ellie’s emotional journey in an edition that pushes immersion even further.

Meanwhile, the Classics catalog is also expanding with three legendary titles from PlayStation’s golden age:

Unlike monthly games, these titles remain available as long as they are part of the Extra and Premium catalog. A perfect mix of modern blockbusters and timeless classics, reinforcing the appeal of a service now designed as a true multi-generational library.
