Rapper Drake in Grand Theft Auto
The GTA series has always had a close relationship with music. From the very beginning, it’s offered players a rich and diverse soundtrack through a wide array of radio stations. But this time, Rockstar might be taking things a step further. During an appearance on the New Rory and Mal podcast, producer Jermaine Dupri shared that Drake may be getting his very own radio station in GTA. “They asked me to be part of Grand Theft Auto, and they mentioned Drake would have his own station in the game,” he revealed.
He also hinted at some major innovations for artists:
- The ability to release exclusive tracks created specifically for the GTA universe
- Custom-branded stations that reflect each artist’s unique sound and identity
- Deeper integration between music and storytelling, bringing a level of immersion never seen before
In short, GTA VI might not just deliver an exceptional soundtrack—it could become a fully interactive music platform.
Although Jermaine Dupri didn’t name GTA 6 directly, all signs point to the upcoming installment. And really, what better way to headline a game of this magnitude than with one of the most-streamed artists on the planet?
This potential partnership would further solidify Rockstar’s ambition to merge gaming with pop culture, pushing the franchise’s musical immersion to new heights.
A Trend Already in Motion
Drake may not be the only artist teaming up with Rockstar. Kendrick Lamar is also rumored to have his own station, while DJ Khaled could be featured as a host. T-Pain has already confirmed his involvement, and even Megan Thee Stallion has dropped hints on social media, with visuals heavily inspired by Vice City.
If we look back at GTA 5 and its 22 distinct radio stations, it’s clear that Rockstar never does anything halfway. GTA 6 could push the envelope even further, letting players tune into original, exclusive, and possibly even evolving music depending on updates or in-game events.
With such a star-studded lineup, GTA 6’s soundtrack is already shaping up to be historic. One thing’s for sure: radio in the game will no longer be just background noise.
A Release Stirring Up Headlines
Originally slated for 2025, the launch of GTA 6 has now been pushed back to May 2026, leaving many fans anxious and uncertain. Fortunately, Rockstar seems to have a plan to ease the wait: a remaster of GTA IV could be arriving before the end of the year. A clever way to keep the excitement alive until the big day.
And to keep the hype going with some visuals, we highly recommend watching (or rewatching) the second official GTA VI trailer—a thrilling mix of adrenaline, visual ambition, and narrative tension:
