The Last of Us Season 2: The trailer for Episode 4 teases the start of a relentless hunt
Each week brings new revelations for fans of The Last of Us, as HBO’s hit series continues its rise with a gripping new trailer for the highly anticipated Episode 4. Tension builds dramatically, driven by familiar faces, new threats, and iconic moments from the game brought to life with remarkable accuracy.
With a title like “Day One”, Episode 4 of the second season of The Last of Us seems to mark a new chapter: the beginning of the hunt in Seattle. It may well be a major turning point in the season, reshuffling the deck and pushing Ellie deeper into a spiral of violence and loss. Since the premiere episode, which drew in over 5 million viewers, the series has continued to captivate audiences week after week. This fourth installment already promises to be one of the season’s most intense.

A darker tone after a deceptive calm
The previous episode – “The Path” – offered a much-needed breather after the early tragedies. Three months after the infected attack on Jackson, Ellie is trying to find her footing again. Physically healed but still haunted by psychological scars, a burning desire for revenge begins to take root.
Accompanied by Dina, Ellie heads to Seattle in search of Abby. The new trailer plunges us straight into their uncertain journey, blending quiet moments with an ever-present sense of danger.
The previous episode began introducing the W.L.F. (Washington Liberation Front), a structured, disciplined military group ready to do whatever it takes to enforce their vision of a new world. In Episode 4, we meet the W.L.F. leader, Isaac (played by Jeffrey Wright), who makes a striking first appearance. One detail stands out: he’s wearing a FEDRA uniform—a relic from his past—hinting at either a flashback or a reinterpretation of his origin in the series.
The trailer reveals Isaac’s ruthless methods. In a chilling shot, we see him torturing a naked man, chained in a bathroom. It’s a harsh moment, showcasing the brutal, unflinching nature of this key character—one even more merciless than expected.
Although Abby doesn’t appear to be in this episode, the tension between Ellie and Dina rises as they continue their pursuit through a dangerous and unpredictable Seattle.
Ellie and Dina’s bond put to the test
Fans of The Last of Us Part II will recognize an emotional moment: Ellie playing “Take On Me” on the guitar, a tender pause amid chaos, symbolizing the fragile love between the two young women.
But this fleeting tenderness is only the calm before the storm: the trailer teases a breathless sequence in Seattle’s subway. Between infected and W.L.F. soldiers, Ellie and Dina fight for survival in the city’s dark underground tunnels.
The scene builds to a striking image: Dina, in tears, pointing a gun at Ellie. What happened? How far will this relationship be pushed?
