Space Marine 2: A FREE Update Is Adding a Brand-New Game Mode (And It’s Just Around the Corner)

Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive have just unveiled a major update for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 during the Warhammer Skulls Festival, a key digital event for fans of the franchise. The event also showcased Warhammer 40K: Boltgun 2, the wild sequel to the acclaimed retro FPS. For those who missed the first game, it’s currently free on PlayStation Plus. But the true highlight of the livestream was the explosive trailer for the brand-new “Siege” mode—an all-new co-op experience where survival is the only objective. And it’s coming very soon.

A Brutal New Battlefield
In this new co-op PvE mode, players will form squads of three Space Marines to face endless waves of enemies on the planet Kadaku. From ravenous Tyranids to the unholy sorcery of the Thousand Sons, danger is everywhere—and survival depends solely on your combat skill and willingness to sacrifice. As the Imperial creed says: “Duty only ends in death.”

Powerful Allies Amid Chaos
The trailer is packed with spectacular moments. Amid the frenzied Tyranid hordes, one element stood out: the Imperial Dreadnoughts are back. While players won’t be able to control them directly, these massive war machines will appear as battlefield support, turning the tide during the most critical moments.
For Tim Willits, Chief Creative Officer at Saber Interactive, this update is a dream come true: “Players have been asking for Siege mode since our first reveal, and we’re thrilled to finally deliver this unique experience.” It’s a major step forward for Space Marine 2, securing its place as one of the year’s standout third-person shooters.
New Cosmetic DLCs
Patch 8, launching alongside the Siege mode, will also introduce eagerly awaited cosmetic content for veteran players:
- White Scars Chapter Pack:
- Champion skin for the Assault class
- Three exclusive weapon skins
- Cosmetic options and heraldic symbols
- Blood Angels Cosmetic Pack:
- Armor parts usable across all classes
- Symbols for eight Successor Chapters
The “Siege” update will be available for free on June 26 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. To mark the occasion, the game’s Standard, Gold, and Ultra editions—as well as the DLCs—will be up to 40% off during the Warhammer Skulls Festival of Video Games.
