Get ready to rediscover your PS5 controller in a whole new way! Sony is rolling out a major system update that turns the DualSense into the ultimate gaming Swiss Army knife…

Just a day after eight new games were added to the PS Plus library, Sony is now rolling out system update 25.06-12.00.00.43 for the PS5. This 1.317 GB patch introduces a long-awaited feature: cross-device pairing for DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers. After recently making refunds easier on the PlayStation Store with a new dedicated feature, Sony continues to refine the player experience with an improvement that makes life easier for multi-device users.

Seamless Multi-Device Pairing

No more frustration when switching between your PS5, PC, or smartphone and having to go through the tedious re-pairing process! Thanks to the September 17 update, you can now save up to four devices at once and switch between them with a simple button combo. This feature, tested in beta since July, completely streamlines your gaming routine: start a game on PS5, jump to your PC for an indie title, then switch to Remote Play on your phone — all without reconfiguring anything.

Winning Combo: Master the New Shortcuts

This new feature relies on a system of simple, clever button combinations:

Slot Button Combination Lights On Example Device
1 PS + Triangle 1 light PS5
2 PS + Circle 2 lights PS5 Pro
3 PS + Cross 3 lights Windows PC
4 PS + Square 4 lights iPhone

Power Saver: Eco-Friendly Gaming Arrives

Alongside this connectivity upgrade, Sony is introducing Power Saver mode, an eco-friendly feature that significantly reduces the energy consumption of certain games. You can enable it in the system settings, and it will gradually roll out to a selection of supported titles.

The first compatible games include Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Demon’s Souls, and Ghost of Yōtei, with more titles coming in future updates. This initiative is part of Sony’s commitment to lower the carbon footprint of gaming while maintaining a high-quality player experience.
