Techland has surprised everyone by announcing that Dying Light: The Beast will launch earlier than expected! A bold move designed as a gift to players after the incredible excitement generated by pre-orders.
With over one million pre-orders across all platforms, Dying Light: The Beast is already shaping up to be one of the most anticipated games of 2025. An Early Launch to Delight Fans
In an official statement, franchise director Tymon Smektala shared: “Seeing the excitement of our community for Kyle Crane’s return pushed us to do the impossible.” As a result, players will be able to dive into the unforgiving world of The Beast starting September 18 — one day earlier than the original release date.
Big news! Since more than 1 million players have already secured their copy of Dying Light: The Beast ahead of launch, we’re moving the release forward to SEPTEMBER 18! Dying Light: The Beast will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC at a price of $59.99 for the Standard edition and $69.99 for the Deluxe edition. It’s worth noting that there will be no early access for the game, even for Deluxe owners. However, players who pre-order will receive an exclusive reward at launch.
A Game Designed as a True Fresh Start
Initially planned as a simple expansion for Dying Light 2: Stay Human, the project grew so ambitious that Techland decided to make it a full standalone title. This new installment will feature completely redesigned gameplay mechanics, improved visuals and effects, and an original story starring Roger Craig Smith reprising his iconic role as Kyle Crane. Journalists who attended exclusive previews have already praised the scope of the work accomplished, as reflected in the early positive impressions published on specialized sites.
A Rare Trend in the Industry
This early release highlights a rare but much-appreciated trend: seeing a game launch ahead of schedule. In a market often dominated by delays and repeated postponements — as seen with the recent official delay of GTA VI to May 2026 — this kind of announcement feels like a breath of fresh air. Interestingly, the same happened with Borderlands 4, which also moved its release nearly two weeks earlier to land on September 12, proving its development went smoothly.
These back-to-back announcements showcase the impressive production management of the studios involved. In an already packed fall release schedule, this strategy allows them to get ahead of the competition and give players immediate access to highly anticipated blockbusters. The result: excitement is at an all-time high, and fans now have two major events to celebrate in September.
