As the highly anticipated Daima Character Pack 2 approaches this Wednesday, Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero is already receiving a free update today, introducing a brand-new stage, significant gameplay rebalancing, and several welcome improvements.

Since its launch last fall, Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero has continually expanded its fighter roster. Following the arrival of 11 characters in January through the Hero of Justice pack, the gallery grew even larger in April with 8 warriors from the first Daima Character Pack DLC, not to mention the surprise debut of Shallot in June, a mobile-exclusive character making his console debut. On Wednesday, September 24, six new fighters will join the roster to close out the season pass in style. But before that, today’s free update delivers a wealth of new content.

A new arena for all players

Starting today, every Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero owner can access the brand-new First Demon World arena for free. This exclusive battle stage lets fans relive the final showdown against Gomah in an environment that captures the oppressive atmosphere of Daima’s demon world.

This generous addition reflects Bandai Namco’s strategy of delivering regular free content to its community, addressing earlier criticism about the lack of stage variety at launch. The dark, mysterious setting of the First Demon World adds fresh dynamics to battles, with its imposing scenery and unique atmosphere perfectly aligned with the Daima universe.

A crucial update for balance

Alongside this new arena, Spike Chunsoft’s developers are rolling out a major update (version 2014.013.003.009.008) that significantly overhauls the combat system. These adjustments aim to rebalance the multiplayer experience and fix several mechanics flagged as problematic by the community. Key changes include:

The ranked mode also benefits from notable improvements, including a minimum of 50 points per victory and the addition of exclusive titles for the top 100 players each season. These updates should energize the competitive scene and encourage more players to climb the leaderboards.

Six new warriors to close out the season pass

These improvements pave the way for the Daima Character Pack 2, launching Wednesday, September 24, with six new fighters. This pack marks the definitive conclusion of the Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero season pass, following months of anticipation and a delay that left many fans disappointed.

The character lineup is especially enticing for fans of legendary transformations:

Unlike the first Daima pack, which only featured Japanese voiceovers, this new content includes English dubbing, highlighting the developers’ commitment to satisfying their international audience. Season pass holders will get early access to these new fighters starting tomorrow, ahead of the general release on Wednesday. In the meantime, the official trailer is the perfect way to dive into the power of this new content:
